Donating vs Purchasing Trees for Maximum Impact
Your donation of trees is greatly appreciated, but purchasing trees with us is just as impactful. When you donate a tree, it will be replanted four times over a period of 75-100 years and effectively capture CO2. On the other hand, purchasing a tree will not be replanted, but instead the yield will generate enough funds to repay you the original purchase price of the tree, along with a compounded interest rate linked to the Norwegian Consumer Price Index, in the 16-20th year.
For instance, if you buy 100 trees for €1,875 with a 3% annual adjustment tied to the Norwegian Consumer Price Index, you'll get a complete repayment of €2,921 in one of the years between the 15th and 20th year. This provides you with a practical solution to neutralize your carbon footprint while receiving a payout, all without incurring any financial loss.

One Million Tree Seedlings Distributed to Farmers in Just 9 Months
In September 2018, barely nine months after the tree nursery began, over 1 million tree seedlings were grown, and three-quarters of them were distributed to the farmers. Since then, the partner farmer program has become very popular, and in 2022, the number of partner farmers was over 16,000. Continual efforts are made to improve every aspect of the tree planting process for the farmers, with the goal of creating a lasting ecological, environmental, and economic impact for them and future generations, as well as combating climate change.

Combat Climate Change with Dryland Afforestation in Uganda
Our forestry partner, Better Globe Forestry Ltd. has been operating in Kenya since 2004 and expanded to Uganda in 2018. They are renowned for their dryland afforestation, soil and water conservation, micro-credit services, the Miti forestry magazine, and other income-generating activities. Their unique approach to alleviating poverty while planting trees in dry areas sets them apart from others in the world.
Trees4CO2 partners with Better Globe Forestry to plant trees and combat climate change. Our focus is on reforestation and afforestation in Uganda through thousands of small-scale farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture by helping the farmers grow food crops more efficiently.

Frequently asked questions
A quota is how much CO2 a person offsets per year. This varies greatly depending on living conditions, travel frequencies (domestic/international), personal habits, driving, distance to work and how you get there, etc.
Trees4CO2 is based on the calculation method of the World Bank and the UN. For a person in Norway, the average CO2 footprint approx. 7 tons annually.
Each tree absorbs in excess of 0,5 tons CO2.
We offer two options to offset CO2 for our customers.

If you choose to donate a tree, there is no payout involved. However, the donated tree will be replanted four times within a span of 75-100 years.
The carbon capture is calculated by the organization Dutch Green. Each tree captures approximately 0.5 tons of CO2.
Trees4CO2 offers a final payout to our buying customers. When the trees are harvested (after 15 - max 20 years), we will pay out the initial purchase amount adjusted for the price consumption index for the period. (The Norwegian Price Index by SSB). *This applies only to purchases.
Trees4CO2 is your Norwegian partner in the CO2 capture process. All aspects will be organized and handled by us in the relation to our customers. We have a well-established partner in Africa with 20 years’ experience. Our partner has a highly experienced organization with management from Belgium/Africa. Better Globe Forestry has so far planted 3.6 million trees.
The trees are planted mainly in Kenya and Uganda.
A significant majority of our trees are planted in what is described as dryland (uncultivated land). This is semi-arid and arid territory.
It varies depending on where the trees are planted. In Uganda, the trees are harvested after 15 years. In Kenya, the trees are harvested after 16-20 years.
Mahogany trees planted in Kenya are developed and cultivated to become significant and powerful absorbers of carbon emissions. The tree planting is directed by our partner Better Globe Forestry and helps to restore ecosystems, biodiversity, as well as the crucial conversion of dryland to cultivated land.
